Sisterhood...

You can make a difference when you join Temple Beth Or’s Sisterhood (TBOSS) by becoming part of a group of women who care about each other, who support a variety of Jewish projects to strengthen our Temple, our community, our Jewish heritage, and the Jewish people worldwide.

Sisterhood enriches the lives of every segment of our congregation from preschoolers to college students. We feed our congregation after happy events and sad events, but more importantly we nourish our members’ lives by forging new and lasting friendships and renewing our sense of community. Our programs fall into four main categories:

Community Outreach

  • Helping Hands – we coordinate help and/or cook meals for TBO members in times of crisis
  • Step Up Program – we work with the interfaith community toward the goal of self sufficiency for Raleigh’s less fortunate residents
  • Cancer walks and AIDS walks – to support research and efforts to help those living with cancer and AIDS
  • Blood Drive – held in conjunction with Mitzvah Day

Social Activities

  • Get acquainted brunches
  • Bunco party
  • Scrap booking
  • Knitting workshops
  • Healing Shawls

Religious Support

  • Tot Shabbats coincide with holidays for our 6 and under members
  • College Connection – we send Judaic care packages to our members away at college
  • Congregational Break the Fast
  • Congregational Passover 2nd Night Seder
  • Purim Dinner before services

Please visit our exciting TBO Sisterhood's Gift Shop!! We are your one-stop shop for all your Judaic needs. Be it Shabbat candles, beautiful platters, special-occasion cards, cute gifts, artistic items, unique jewelry and more.

We're expanding our B'nai Mitzvah Department to cater to Bar/Bat Mitzvahs and we are now offering gift certificates! It's a fun and exciting place and please note that 100% of our profits go to TBO Sisterhood for their wonderful projects to help our community. So, come and shop for yourself or for those on your list! Come visit, schmooze with fellow congregants while browsing, and bring your checkbook or cash and experience for yourself what all the buzz is about. We'll see you there...
